A LITTLE MORE ABOUT GALVESTON:
Did you know that Galveston is the second gayest city in Texas? In an infographic compiled by the Austin-American Statesman. The map took data from the 2010 Census, which does not ask about sexual orientation explicitly but collects information on the relationships between the individuals residing in a household.
Although a more progressive blue dot in a red state like Austin might not surprise you as a haven for gays, it's Dallas that has the highest percentage of same-sex households in the state at 1.5 percent. Galveston has the second-highest percentage of same-sex households in the state at 1.47 percent, followed by Austin at No. 3 with 1.44 percent.
Talk with one of many Galveston Realtors that will have booths set up at the beach. Interest rates are at record lows and housing prices are at multi-year lows. Now is the time. There are still some great fix-me-up deals from Hurricane Ike 4 1/2 years ago. Become a full timer, weekender or rental/retirement property owner. We are on our way to becoming the Gayest city in Texas!!
