OktoberFest

Join us for biggest event yet! We are gearing up for OktoberFest at Galveston Island Brewing! An all day FREE event filled with food & dance, stein & t-shirt sales and of course... OktoberFest beer specials. Shrimp N' Stuff will have traditional German food for sale. Bratwurst, sauerkraut, Bavarian soft pretzels & more. Local honey from GiveThanks for Honey bees will be on sight and for sale. Traditional style leather Lederhosens will be on sale during Oktoberfest. 2 styles to choose from (see photo below). Sizes 30-44 available while supplies last. Oktoberfest commemorative 1 liter glass steins and lederhosen t-shirts for sale in the tap room starting October 1st - October 17th. 7:00 pm Men and Women's Masskrugstemmen (stein holding) contest. • All entries must be 21 years of age or older. • Contestants must purchase their entry ticket before the event ($10.00). Ticket is good for one liter of Oktoberfest beer to be used in the competition and for consumption. • Contestants must hold a 1-liter stein filled to the “fill line” with beer (about 5 pounds) at arm’s length for as long as possible. You may bring your own 1-liter glass stein or purchase a stein at the event. Steins brought in, must be approved by judge. • The arm cannot be bent and must remain parallel to the floor. (Only one warning will be given per contestant) • Any spillage spells disqualification. • The winner is the last man and woman, standing, arm outstretched and unbent, with full mug of beer. • Winners will receive new, filled 64oz Growler with beer of choice, OktoberFest t-shirt & $25.00 gift certificate to Galveston Island Brewing.
